69. Ilchee

The cast bronze statue of Ilchee stands on the bank of the Columbia River about one mile east of the I-5 Bridge. Ilchee was the daughter of a Chinook chief, Concomly, and wife of Chief Casino. She was considered a very powerful woman and shaman. It was said of her  “She paddled her own canoe.
